Fears of Eastern Europe abandoning Ukraine

The veto of the new Polish President, Carol Nauruki, may be a draft law that extends financial support for Ukrainian refugees fleeing the war, and may end the Polish financing for the Ukrainian “Starlink” internet service, an unfortunate event. Rather, it may also be an early sign of the weakness of Eastern Europe to defeat Prussia in Ukraine.

In Hungary, its president, Victor Urban, sided with Russia in the war, as he doubled his energy purchases from Russia in the wake of the war, preventing aid from Ukraine, and even sent spies to the Ukrainian “Transkarbathia” region to find out the reaction of the local population to annexing them again to (Greater Hungary). Slovakia’s record was the same. Among the first countries to transport combat aircraft and provided air defense systems to Ukraine, the current country’s government is working as a defender of Russia’s interests to the European Union.

There is no doubt that Poland, as a regional power, has a tense relationship with Russia, and finds itself in a different position than Hungary and Slovakia, however, this makes the veto that Naoruke used and the broader context is more concerned. Any hesitation or division in Poland on a fundamental issue, such as Ukraine, will resonate outside the country’s borders, and will risk revealing the worst in the leaders of the region.

It is noteworthy that in the first round of the elections, the winning candidate for the Law and Justice Party was backed by right -wing candidates, each obtained about 20% of the vote. None of them showed Slavomer Mintzen, nor Gregors Brown, their understanding of the dangers in Ukraine. The first appears to be very preoccupied with the European Union’s confrontation that it does not care about Russia. As for Brown, in addition to his controversial stances, he is severely hostile to Ukraine, and is keen to repeat the Russian arguments around Kiev.

Weak resistance

The Party of Law and Justice in the Popular Movement of Ukraine, which was exacerbated by the pressure of Ukrainian refugees on public services. The reason is due to the personality of the party leader, Yaroslav Kachenski. In his capacity as Prime Minister Kachinski, Kachinski lost his twin brother Lach, Poland’s president, in a plane crash in Russia in 2010, while some still in Poland believed that he was not an accident.

With Kachinski’s grip on his party, resistance against corrupt geopolitical thinking of the Polish right is also weakened. Moreover, Nauruki is far from being a skilled or strategic politician. The former president, André Doda, who is also a member of the Law and Justice Party, has fought repeated battles with the middle government, but he was also able to overcome party policy at critical moments, as happened during a joint visit to Washington with his archenemy, Donald Tusk, Prime Minister. Doda also seemed to be effective in moving matters with President Donald Trump and his team, especially before voting on the latest additional bill on Ukraine.

The absence of Poland, as a result of the confrontation between the president’s office and the government, was noticeable during the recent visit of President Voludimir Zellinski and other European leaders to the White House, in an attempt to direct peace negotiations.

As for the Baltic countries, Russia poses a direct existential threat, however, the newly -formed ruling coalition in Lithuania led by Democratic Socialism, Inga Roginini, will now include the union of fetal farmers and vegetables, known for its most reconciliation views towards the country’s Soviet past.

It is true that Roginini has pledged to make the strong national defense a priority, and the Defense Minister of its party, Dofili Sharalin, was one of the most important defenders of this policy.

The idea of withdrawal

Nevertheless, the group of the federation of the Lithuanian farmers and vegetables in the Lithuanian Parliament includes parliamentarians from the Polish Political Party and the coalition of Christian Christian families, which is, for the paradox, the most explicit support for Russia in the country.

Some of the Polish Political Political Party officials, most notably Zebigan Jedzenski, spoke about the idea of withdrawing from NATO (NATO), building an alliance with Russia, and expressed their support for the suppression of the demonstrators in Belarus after the controversial 2020 elections. The party leader, Valdimar Tomashavsky, blamed the war of Russia and Ukraine for Lithuania’s support for anti -Alexander Lukashenko protests, President of Belarus. Lithuania also opposed Russian government television channels, and proudly wore the “St. Georgia” tape, the symbol of the Russian army.

Finally, there are the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic, which is likely to return Andre Babish to the Prime Minister. In his failed presidential campaign in 2023, Babish himself presented as a “peace candidate”, skeptical of the military aid of Ukraine. This year, Babish mobilized his supporters against financial support for Ukrainian refugees residing in the Czech Republic, and pledged to end the Czech -led ammunition initiative, which succeeded in accelerating the production of artillery shells in Europe and sending them to Ukraine.

Some people reduce Babish’s speech in light of his previous record, which was not largely offensive, as prime minister. However, to form a government in October this year, it may have to cooperate with some extremist powers.

Spine

In European policy, the Babish party also moved from the “Renewal” group led by French President Emmanuel Macron to the “National for Europe” group, where he joined the Hungarian Civil Union party, the Italian League party, the Austrian Freedom Party, and other political groups loyal to Russia publicly.

The Polish and the Baltic and Czech Republics were the backbone of the regional alliance supporting Ukraine, and this alliance has not yet retreated, however, the three examples show the importance of the American leadership in managing the coalition supporting Ukraine in the war. In Warsaw, Vellans and Berg, leaders usually wait for signs from Washington and behave according to them, and when these signals do not appear or are vague, it is not Muslim to always double the regional actors, as the senior priorities are visible in America.

Some governments may do this, but other governments will fully realize their weakness in the absence of American support, and you will try to adapt to the new facts. Moreover, if Ukraine’s aid policy becomes more controversial throughout the region, it is expected to weaken more effort, and this will be bad news, not only for Ukraine, but also for European security and the interests of the United States in Europe.
