"Sharjah Electricity" Provides two billion gallons using satellites

Sharjah, August 31 / WAM / The efforts of the Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, Sharjah, in the application of a project to detect water leaks via satellites, resulted in the discovery and treatment of 1345 leaks in transport and distribution lines and the provision of 1331 million gallons, equivalent to 46 million dirhams.
Engineer Faisal Al -Serkal, Director of Water Management at the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, said that satellite technology was used to detect leaks to survey the water network with a length of 5000 km, and the field work team also surveyed 950 km from the network using audio detection devices to locate invisible leaks, and that thanks to these advanced technologies and the speed of the team responded to detection and processing a large number of leaks during the period from March 2024 to May 2025.
