“Special Education in Ajman” obliges schools to prevent and combat all forms of abuse against students

The Office of Special Education Affairs in the Emirate of Ajman issued administrative circular No. (06) of 2025 regarding the protection of students in private schools, based on its keenness to provide a safe educational environment that preserves the dignity of all students and preserves their rights, and in line with the national policy for children’s protection in educational institutions.
The office stressed that the circular obliges all private schools in the emirate to prevent and combat all forms of abuse against students, whether physical, psychological, verbal, or electronic, in addition to cases of neglect, discrimination, harassment, and bullying, stressing the need to develop internal systems and procedures for protection and spreading a culture of protection between students, workers and parents.
The circular also stipulated the appointment of a coach and accredited protection official in each school, and the provision of safe and confidential channels for reporting, as well as organizing annual mandatory training programs for cadres, and introductory workshops for students and parents with child rights and protection mechanisms.
The office stressed that failure to adhere to the rulings of circular will present the schools that violate the legal and administrative accountability, including imposing fines, suspending the license, or taking disciplinary measures against the violating employees, up to referral to the competent authorities when necessary.
In this context, Mahmoud Khalil Al -Hashemi, Executive Director of the Office of Special Education Affairs, said: “Protection of students in private schools is a top priority, and through this circular we seek to ensure an educational environment based on safety and trust, in line with the national policy for the protection of children in educational institutions.”
The issuance of this circular comes to confirm the commitment of the Emirate of Ajman to upgrade the standards of care and protection in educational institutions, and to ensure that private schools are a healthy and safe environment that enhances the integrated growth of students and ensures their rights.
