Latifa Bint Mohammed discusses with the Director of the United Nations Development Programme, supporting comprehensive and sustainable development paths

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairwoman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, met with the Director of the United Nations Development Programme, Alexander De Croo, on the sidelines of the ongoing edition of the World Economic Forum held in the Swiss city of Davos.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation, and Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, along with a number of senior officials from both sides.

During the meeting, Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum affirmed the UAE’s firm commitment to supporting sustainable development efforts at the regional and global levels, and strengthening partnerships with international organizations, most notably the United Nations Development Programme, in a way that contributes to achieving common development goals and supports building more resilient and inclusive societies capable of facing future challenges.

The meeting discussed a group of development topics of common interest, including supporting comprehensive and sustainable development paths, promoting innovation in development policies, developing government work models, and building flexible economies capable of adapting to economic and social changes, in addition to the role of culture and knowledge in supporting long-term development.

The meeting also discussed the importance of regional and international coordination during the current stage, in light of the intertwined global challenges, while emphasizing that joint action and multilateral cooperation constitute an essential foundation for achieving sustainable development, enhancing stability, and improving the quality of life for societies.
