The speed of response to emergency vehicles plays a crucial role in saving lives

The General Command of Abu Dhabi Police organized an event to enhance societal awareness of the importance of the rapid response to emergency vehicles, in order to contribute to saving lives and reducing response time, as part of the “Pay way” campaign for emergency vehicles immediately, and with the participation of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority, the Health Department – Abu Dhabi and the Emirates Car Driving Company.

The event, which was organized in Al -Reem Mall over a period of two days, met with a great interaction of visitors, as it reviewed the importance of the public cooperation with the competent authorities, and the procedures to be followed when facing an emergency vehicle on the road, in addition to raising awareness of the legal penalties resulting from the lack of commitment to make the road to emergency vehicles.

The participants stressed that the speed of the drivers’ response to the way to make the road to emergency vehicles plays a decisive role in saving lives, calling on the public to support their efforts by adhering to traffic rules when ambulances or fire extinguishers approach.

Abu Dhabi Police stressed the importance of the public cooperation with the competent authorities, and the procedures that must be followed when facing an emergency vehicle on the road, in addition to raising awareness of the legal penalties resulting from the lack of commitment to make the road to emergency vehicles.

The Abu Dhabi Civil Defense Authority stressed that a number of activities expressed the importance of each second in emergency situations, and that the speed of response plays a decisive role in saving lives, and called on the public to support their efforts by adhering to traffic rules when ambulances or fire extinguishing approach.

The Emirates Driving Education Company provided an awareness explanation of 6 main cases that the driver might be exposed to while facing emergency vehicles, such as: standing at traffic lights, circles, internal roads, and highways, and showed the optimal ways to make the road safely and smoothly without endangering the soul or others.

On the sidelines of the event, educational artistic drawing workshops were organized for children, with the aim of introducing them to the goals of the campaign in a simplified and interesting manner, and strengthening their traffic culture since childhood, which contributes to building a generation aware of its responsibilities towards public safety
