The Executive Council issues a decision to transfer the digital forensics laboratory to the Judicial Department

ABU DHABI, January 25 / WAM / The Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi issued a decision to transfer the Digital Forensics Laboratory from the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters to the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, in a strategic step that reflects the trend towards unifying the criminal justice system and establishing a unified specialized reference for examining digital evidence in accordance with the highest approved judicial and technical standards.

The decision contributes to achieving a fundamental integration of the tasks of the Forensic and Electronic Sciences Center of the Judicial Department, by unifying efforts to collect, examine and analyze digital evidence under one umbrella, which supports accelerating the pace of litigation by reducing the time spent requesting technical reports and linking them directly to the judicial system.

Joint work teams from the Judicial Department and the Abu Dhabi Police General Command are scheduled to begin implementing a phased transition plan that ensures the continued efficiency of the laboratory’s operational operations, achieving a smooth transition that maintains the quality and accuracy of services.
