The President of the State and the King of Jordan discuss brotherly relations and regional developments

Abu Dhabi, September 7/ WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State “may God protect him”, with his brother His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al -Hussein, King of the sisterly Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan today, discussed brotherly relations and various aspects of cooperation and joint work between the two countries, stressing their keenness to continue to strengthen them in a way that serves their mutual interests and is good for their people.
His Highness and His Majesty, the King of Jordan, also reviewed – during the meeting that took place at the Beach Palace in Abu Dhabi – a number of regional and international issues in common concern and exchanged views on them, foremost of which is the developments taking place in the Middle East region, especially developments in the occupied Palestinian territory, stressing the steadfast position of the two countries towards supporting the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people and the importance of international work to push towards establishing a comprehensive and fair peace that is based on a “two -state solution” as it is the only way To achieve stability in the region in the interest of all their peoples and countries.
In this context, the two sides stressed the position of the two countries rejecting any Israeli approach to annexing the West Bank or any part of the occupied Palestinian land or displacing the Palestinians from their land in addition to the settlement expansion plans, stressing that such measures undermine a “two -state solution” and threaten regional security and stability and the opportunities to achieve peace in the region.
The two sides also expressed their rejection of the Israeli positions and statements that involve a threat to the sovereignty of the countries of the region.
His Highness the President of the State and His Majesty Jordan affirmed their common keenness to continue fraternal consultation and joint coordination between the two countries, especially in light of the developments in the region.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and head of the Presidential Bureau, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and the team, His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, His Highness Sheikh Hamid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Presidency for Special Affairs and His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President of the State and His Excellency Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary -General of the Supreme Council for National Security, His Excellency Hamid Obaid Abu Shabas, President of the Emirates Accounting Agency, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Head of the President of the State for Strategic Affairs and head of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office and a number of senior officials in the country.
It was also attended by the Jordanian delegation accompanying his majesty, which includes His Royal Highness Prince Al -Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the State of Dr. Jaafar Hassan, Prime Minister, Ayman Al -Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs and a number of senior officials in Jordan.
His Majesty King Abdullah II left the country at a later time, as he was farewell at Al -Bateen Airport, His Highness the President of the State and a number of His Highness the elders and senior officials.
