المملكة: Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture… An alliance to secure supply chains
Head Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and AgricultureEngineer Mansour Al-Mushaiti held a video meeting to promote Food supply chains, with the participation of government and private agencies, with the aim of sustaining Agricultural production and raising self-sufficiency rates to achieve the goals of Vision 2030.
The coordination meeting witnessed broad participation from the heads of the specialized committees of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, in addition to prominent government bodies, including food, medicine, food security and prevention.
Best agricultural practices
The attendees discussed mechanisms for coordinating joint work between the public and private sectors, in an effort to implement the best agricultural practices that ensure the stability of local markets and meet the needs of consumers.

The discussions focused on facilitating the procedures for the flow of food products to and from the Kingdom, and coordinating the complex logistical operations of feed inputs.
Sustainability of supplies
Attendees discussed building an effective government communication network to ensure the sustainability of supplies and confront any challenges that may hinder the arrival of agricultural products to the final beneficiary.
The participants appreciated the unlimited government support that resulted in qualitative leaps in record time, as the agricultural sector’s contribution to the domestic product jumped to 114 billion riyals. By the end of 2024.
Many agricultural crops and local products recorded historic self-sufficiency rates that exceeded the 100% barrier, which strengthened the status of national food security.
