Abdullah bin Zayed receives the Egyptian Foreign Minister and discusses brotherly relations and regional developments
Abu Dhabi, September 10/ WAM/ His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received today in Abu Dhabi, His Excellency Dr. Badr Abdel -Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration in the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt.
During the meeting, the current regional developments were discussed and its repercussions on international peace and security, in the wake of the blatant and cowardly Israeli attack on the sisterly State of Qatar.
The two ministers expressed their full solidarity with the brothers in the State of Qatar and its support in all the measures they take to protect its security and the safety of its citizens and residents on its soil.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan pointed out that respect for the sovereignty of countries is a basic pillar in international relations, and that any violation of this principle is a flagrant violation of the Charter of the United Nations and International Law, stressing the importance of the international community to assume its responsibilities in stopping the reckless and barbaric Israeli attacks.
The two sides also discussed ways to enhance efforts to push towards achieving a comprehensive peace in the region, based on a “two -state solution”, which contributes to enhancing security, stability and development.
The meeting dealt with brotherly relations between the UAE and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and ways to enhance various aspects of joint cooperation in the framework of the distinguished strategic partnership that brings the two countries together.
The two sides also touched on the prospects of bilateral cooperation in a number of vital sectors, including economic, development, commercial, and other areas that support the visions of the two countries and aspirations to achieve development and prosperity for their people.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed during the meeting the depth of the Emirati -Egyptian brotherly relations, and the continuous keenness to joint work to invest all available opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation paths in order to achieve development, progress and welfare for the two brotherly peoples.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State and His Excellency Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Minister of State.
