Transfer the holdings of Tutankhamun to the Grand Egyptian Museum

In the context of the final preparations for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum scheduled for the first of next November, it was decided to close the King Tutankhamun Hall in the Egyptian Museum of Liberation, as of next October 20, to complete the transfer of the latest artifacts of the Golden King to the Grand Egyptian Museum, where it will be displayed for the first time combined in one custom hall inside. Dr. Mohamed Ismail Khaled, Secretary -General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, that the Egyptian Museum of Tahrir will continue to receive its visitors naturally during the official working hours of it, noting that the closure will be limited only to King Tutankhamun Hall, due to the completion of the packaging and transportation operations of the pieces offered from his holdings. Exceptionally in the history of archeology and museums globally, where visitors from Egypt and the world will have the opportunity to see more than five thousand artifacts in the context of an integrated offer that reflects the richness of the young king’s possessions.
