The UAE participates in the meeting"15" For the Gulf Renewable Energy Committee

Kuwait, September 17 / WAM / The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, participated in the fifteenth meeting of the Gulf Renewable and New Energy Committee and the accompanying workshop, which was organized by the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, in the State of Kuwait.

During the meeting, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure presented an integrated working paper that dealt with the efforts of the UAE to lead and accelerate the shift towards clean energy and achieve sustainable development, through the Emirates Energy Strategy 2050, which aims to enhance dependence on renewable energy sources, improve energy efficiency, encourage the use of various types of clean energy, and support research and development programs in the areas of energy technology, and encourage innovation and investment in this sector, in addition to enhancing the state’s ability to provide clean energy And sustainable, leading to climate neutrality by 2050.

The paper also reviewed the national program for water and energy demand management as a pivotal tool to enhance the efficiency of consumption and reduce waste of vital resources, as well as highlighting the most prominent renewable and clean energy projects in the country, including solar energy projects, wind energy, and turning waste into energy, nuclear energy, and hydrogen, which established the UAE’s position as a regionally and globally in the energy sector.

Engineer Nawal Al -Hinai, Director of the Future Energy Department, at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, stressed that the UAE’s efforts to shift towards clean energy are a pivotal part of its vision to achieve sustainable economic growth with environmental protection; Where the state succeeded in launching qualitative initiatives and projects that strengthened its position as a global center to develop and apply innovative solutions, supporting reducing emissions and ensuring a more sustainable future for future generations.

It also affirmed the UAE’s commitment to continuing efforts to achieve the outputs of the energy sector within the “UAE’s historic agreement”, which was a global turning point in climate work, and the entry of the state’s position as a platform for leadership and building international partnerships.

She said that the UAE takes over its wise leadership and its forward -looking vision, the file of transformation towards clean energy is a strategic priority within its sustainable development career; It seeks to build an integrated energy system based on diversification and balance between different sources, in order to enhance economic competitiveness and protect the environment.
