The Fourth Arab Conference on Intellectual Property will start next Tuesday at the University of Sharjah

Sharjah, September 17 / WAM / Sharjah University is organized under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of Sharjah University, and the Arab Organization for Administrative Development – the League of Arab States, the Emirates Intellectual Property Society, and the Egyptian Japanese University of Science and Technology Fourth Arab Conference on Intellectual Property, under the slogan “Protection of Intellectual Property Rights in the era of modern technologies” during the period from 23 to September 25.
The conference discusses the challenges imposed by the accelerated technological developments, especially in the areas of artificial intelligence and digital technologies, on the systems of intellectual property rights protection, reviewing ways to develop legislative and regulatory frameworks locally and internationally to keep pace with these changes, and ensure effective and fair protection for various types of intellectual rights.
The conference focuses on a number of major axes, which include: international agreements related to intellectual property rights, legal challenges in the digital and virtual environment, the impact of the digital transformation revolution, in addition to the uses of artificial intelligence in protecting intellectual rights, and the role of the media in raising societal awareness of the importance of respecting these rights, as well as the importance of integrating intellectual property concepts within educational curricula in schools and universities.
The conference includes seven sessions, along with two main sessions on the first day, with the participation of experts and specialists in the field of intellectual property at the local and international levels, including representatives of INTERPOL, the International Organization for Intellectual Property (WIPO), international patent offices, in addition to the faculty members, students and researchers from the colleges of business administration, law, engineering, computing, pharmacy, and medicine at a university Sharjah.
