From Baghdad .. “The Biography of the People of Al -Dai” is the best and Sawab Fawakherji shines in the jury award

After a week full of distinguished cinematic shows, it concluded in the Iraqi capital (Baghdad), the activities of the second session of the “Baghdad International Film Festival”, in the presence of the stars and filmmakers from various Arab countries.

The Egyptian film “Dai – the Biography of the People of Al -Dai” received the lion’s share of the festival’s awards, as he won the award for the best integrated movie, and the award was received by the artist Dalia Mustafa, while the Sudanese artist Islam Mubarak won the award for the best actress for the same film, and the director Karim El Shennawi won the same film “The Best Director Award”.

In the long feature films competition, the movie “Jarra”, by Iraqi director Ammar Al Hammadi, won the Audience Award for Best Film “, while a certificate of appreciation was granted to the Palestinian film” Thank you because you dream with us “from the jury, which in turn was granted to the Iraqi artist Wissam Dia for his role in the movie” Jarra “.

And the “Best Photography Award” went to the movie “Ibn Ashuri”, by Iraqi director Frank Kalbert. While the “Best Actor Award” won the Iraqi artist Bakr Khaled for his role in the movie “Nadam”. As for the Special Jury Award, it was awarded to the Syrian film “Salma”, directed by Jude Saeed, starring Sulaf Fawakherji.

The Lebanese film “Arza”, starring Diamond Bouaboud, by director Mira Shuaib, received the “Best Screenplay Award”, which was written by Faisal Sam, and Louay Khreish, along with the third prize for the best feature feature film. While the second prize came from the Iraqi movie “Adam’s songs”, directed by Uday Rashid.

The movie “Dai – the Biography of the People of Al -Dai” tells the journey of Nubian teenager with leprosy (Albino – the sun sensor), in an adventure that extends from southern Egypt to its north, which combines the challenges of the family, music and dream. Participates in his championship: Badr Mohamed, Islam Mubarak, Aseel Imran, Hanin Saeed, Muhammad Shaheen, Sabri Fawaz, Muhammad Mamdouh, and the Sudanese artist Mahmoud Maysara Al -Sarraj, with an exceptional participation of the great star Mohamed Mounir as a guest of honor.

As for the movie “Salma”, starring Slav Fawakherji, it deals with the story of a rural woman who extends a helping hand to the people of her village in the face of the cruelty of life, as it deals with the repercussions of the “February 6 earthquake” in one of its axes. In it, along with Slav Fawakherji, the late director Abdel Latif Abdel Hamid, and the artist Basem Yakhour as a guest of honor, in addition to a group of students of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Syria.
