An Emirati company provides more than a quarter of a million homes in Chad with clean electricity

Najamina, on September 28 / WAM / The UAE “Global South Utoleite”, which is affiliated with the company “Resources Investment” in Abu Dhabi, announced the supply of about 274,000 homes in Chad with clean electricity, through the “Nour Chad” solar power plant with a capacity of 50 megawatts that were launched today in the capital, Najamina.
The opening witnessed His Excellency the Minister of State and the Secretary -General of the Presidency of the Republic in Chad Muhammad Ahmad Al -Habu, and a number of government ministers, along with Ali Al -Shammari, Managing Director and CEO of Global South Utoletes, and His Excellency Rashid Al Shamsi, the UAE ambassador to Chad.
The “Nour Chad” station is the first project of its kind of this size in the country, and it was implemented in a record time, to form a prominent station in the energy sector and the beginning of future projects in the field of renewable energy.
The station combines 50 megawatts of solar energy, and a 5 -megawatled batteries power storage system, and is expected to contribute to reducing more than 1.36 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions throughout its operation.
“Global South Uttelite” confirmed that it will operate the station, which represents a qualitative shift in Chad, by providing a stable and wide source of clean energy to meet the increasing demand for electricity and reduce dependence on imported diesel.
Ali Al -Shammari said that this project is the first that the company implements from signature to operation in Africa, and it is a proof of these markets to move quickly when the will and active partnerships are able to convert challenges into opportunities.
He added that the project is linked to providing solutions and services to people, by enabling families, societies and countries to prosper by providing sustainable clean energy.
The station was completed more than 350,000 safe hours, and more than 81,000 solar panels and 158 electric reflexes are installed.
The project will be a role model for future renewable energy projects in Chad, and it comes within the growing “Global South Utoleite” portfolio of investments in clean energy across Africa, embodying the UAE’s commitment to support sustainable development and building practical partnerships with the global southern countries.
