"Abu Dhabi dialogue" He paves the way for his eighth ministerial meeting with a discussion "A fair transition to employment" In Asia

Dubai, October 3 / WAM / The “Abu Dhabi Dialogue” path held a meeting of senior officials in the ministries of labor from 16 countries, focused on enhancing future cooperation and the governance of a fair transfer of employment between the countries sent and future in the Asian Corridor, in light of the transformations taking place in the global labor markets, in preparation for the eighth ministerial meeting of the path scheduled in February next year in the UAE as the permanent secretariat for dialogue.

The meeting, which was held through visual communication technology over the past two days, witnessed a discussion of a group of axial worksheets that dealt with the effects of climate change on employment transmission, the requirements of shift towards the green economy, and the role of skills in enhancing productivity, as well as reviewing the temporary employment conditions in the economy of platforms.

In her opening speech, His Excellency Shaima Al -Awadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation to organize and develop the labor market, the assistant undersecretary for the communication and international relations sector, stressed the strategic importance of the meeting to continue the march of cooperation and partnership between member states, and said that it reflects a joint commitment to the spirit of cooperation and exchange of experiences, and demonstrates the pivotal role played by “Abu Dhabi Dialogue” as a pioneering platform for regional and international dialogue, including, including It contributes to the formulation of practical policies that achieve a balance between the requirements of labor markets and protect the rights of workers.

The meeting witnessed a wide participation that included representatives of the receiving countries for employment, namely: Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and representatives of the Asian countries sent to employment, namely: Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as observers representatives of the International Organization for Migration, and the Organization of Labor International, Arab Labor Organization, the private sector, civil society, and other relevant organizations.

Participants reviewed three main working papers; The first is provided by the International Organization for Migration on the effects of climate change in the countries of transmission on the transmission of employment, with a special focus on women, and the second from the International Labor Organization on the transmission of employment and skills for a fair transmission towards the green economy, while the third, was a study by the International Organization for Migration on the transmission of skills in vital areas such as protected agriculture, waste management and the effects of increased growth in these areas on labor markets in the region.

The meeting also discussed the analysis of the conditions of temporary expatriate workers in the economy of platforms, through legal and social studies presented by the World Bank and the International Organization of Labor Owners.

It also touched on the role of skills and diversity in the productivity of work in member states, based on pioneering studies on both sides, in addition to reviews on the Global Charter of Migration presented by the United Nations Regional Office and the International Organization for Migration.

His Excellency Shaima Al -Awadi praised the efforts of the sisterly Sultanate of Oman during its presidency of the current session that enriched the dialogue path, as well as the contributions of the advisory committee and international partners, led by the International Labor Organization, the International Organization for Migration, and the World Bank, in preparing research papers, confirming the UAE’s commitment to continuing to provide support for the dialogue path based on its belief in the importance of developing bilateral and multi -party partnerships.

The “Abu Dhabi Dialogue” path, which started in the year 2008, provides a general platform for dialogue between the Asian countries sent and future for employment, through which the efforts of bilateral and regional cooperation and partnerships aimed at enhancing work paths in member states are supported and enhanced by the maximum benefits and advantages of both workers, employers and economies of member states in the dialogue.
