The UAE -Turkmenistan Business Forum discusses ways to enhance commercial and investment links

Sharjah, October 5/ WAM/ The Second Termaynestani Business Forum hosted by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry discussed ways to enhance commercial and investment links in the traditional and renewable energy sectors, logistical services, agriculture, livestock and infrastructure to serve common development visions and supports the process of sustainable growth in the two countries.
The forum, organized by the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the country, targeted new horizons for economic cooperation, highlighting the promising investment opportunities in a number of vital sectors and deepening strategic partnerships between the business community in the two friendly countries.
The activities of the forum were attended by His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Vice President of the UAE Chambers Union and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, His Excellency Hamid Mohammed bin Salem, Secretary -General of the Emirates Chambers Union, His Excellency Mirgin Gordov, President of the Turkmen Commerce and Industry Chamber, His Excellency Cervarim Garajayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkmenistan to the state, His Excellency Aisha Mohamed Al Mulla, Chairman of the Emirates Business Women Council and His Excellency Mohamed Ahmed Amin Al -Awadi, Director General of the Sharjah Chamber, along with a large crowd of businessmen Officials and representatives of Emirati and Turkmen companies.
His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al -Owais emphasized that the organization of the forum reflects the common concern to improve economic relations in light of the guidance of the wise leadership that views Turkmenistan as a pivotal partner in the Central Asian region, noting the readiness of the Sharjah Chamber to provide all forms of support and facilities for the Turkmen business community and Turkmen companies to establish its business and benefit from the attractive investment environment at the level of the emirate and the state and its strategic location is a portal of the markets Regional and international.
Al -Owais pointed out that the trade exchange numbers between the UAE and Turkmenistan are the best evidence of the strength of this partnership after the volume of non -oil foreign trade between the two countries doubled, as it increased from 223 million dollars in 2019 to more than $ 1.26 billion in 2023, which confirms the pivotal role of the UAE as an important commercial gateway to Turkmenistan towards global markets.
For his part, His Excellency Mergen Gordov emphasized that the bilateral relations between the two sides are going in a growing and ascending line, which confirms the sincere desire of the wise leadership in the two countries in strengthening and building on it and reviewing the rapid economic diversity witnessed by his country and the openness it makes in front of the foreign private sector and highlights the most important and most important investment opportunities that Turkmenistan abounds, especially in the agricultural sector, livestock and transportation sector And logistics.
Gordov called on Emirati investors to explore these promising opportunities and participate in the activities and exhibitions witnessed by Turkmenistan during the coming period, most notably the conference and the international exhibition for “oil and gas” and the international exhibition for “the development of construction, industry, chemical and energy sectors.
In turn, His Excellency Serdarmam Garajayev stressed the depth of bilateral relations and mutual trust that supported direct initiatives between the two countries, praising the role that business forums play in converting strategic visions into concrete partnerships.
The forum witnessed a visual offer from the Ministry of Foreign Trade, reviewing the integrated investment system and the competitive benefits provided by the business environment in the UAE, which made it a leading global destination for investment and business practice .. On the other hand, the Turkmen side presented an offer for the investment opportunities available to the private sector.
The activities of the forum included a tour of the guest delegation in the permanent exhibition of local industrial products held at the Chamber’s headquarters, during which it was briefed on the quality and diversity of the industries held in Sharjah.
The forum concluded with a series of bilateral work meetings that brought together representatives of companies and businessmen from both sides, during which mechanisms were discussed in building effective partnerships and discussing the available investment opportunities in the targeted sectors and exploring the capabilities of cooperation and mutual coordination in future projects in a move that reflected the common concern to move the relations of cooperation to an advanced stage of economic integration based on innovation and common interests.
