India .. A fire in a hospital that would lead to the lives of at least 6 patients

India officials said today that at least six patients died after a fire broke out at a center in the main hospital in the northwestern city of Jaipur.

Hospital official Anwaraj Dakad told Asia International News Agency that the fire, which is suspected of caused by a short circuit, began in the intensive care unit at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital and soon extended to a wing near the sprawling medical complex “, which led to the emission of toxic gases.”

He added that “five patients are still critical,” while 13 others were safely evacuated.

Peugeot George Joseph, Jaipur Police Commissioner, said an investigation by the Criminal Investigation Laboratory will determine the exact cause of the fire.

India has witnessed similar fires in hospitals in the past, and some of them were blamed for a short circuit in electronic equipment.
