A 5.4 magnitude earthquake strikes the South Sandwich Islands in the Atlantic Ocean

Hit Earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale today, , a British Overseas Territory south of The Atlantic Ocean.

The US Geological Survey reported in a statement that the epicenter of the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.

There have been no reports so far of material or human damage as a result of the earthquake.

The South Sandwich Islands are an archipelago that represents part of the Georgia region. The South and South Sandwich Islands, which is an overseas territory of the United Kingdom.
