The Emirates Golf Association distributes its administrative portfolios… and discusses the future of the game

The Board of Directors of the Golf Federation approved the formation of administrative positions for the new electoral cycle (2024-2025), during its meeting held today, Thursday, at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee in Dubai.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Federation, Major General Abdullah Al-Sayyid Al-Hashemi, and all members of the new council, in a meeting during which, in addition to the distribution of administrative portfolios, challenges and opportunities were discussed, and efforts were combined to achieve a qualitative shift in the sport of golf in the country.
The duties of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer were assigned to Mustafa Al Hashemi, while Khaled Al Shamsi assumed the position of Secretary General, Saeed Al Malik as Chairman of the Technical Committee, and Salem bin Dasmal as Chairman of the Marketing and Media Committee, while the duties of Chairman of the Special Tasks Committee were assigned to Khaled Bin Dasmal, and Al Yazia Ali Saleh Al Kuwaiti assumed the presidency of the Women’s Sports and International Relations Committee.
The President of the Federation, Major General Abdullah Al Hashemi, confirmed that the Federation attaches great importance, in its new electoral cycle, to expanding the golf base in the country. He pointed out in his speech at the conference that ambition does not stop with the great and professional players only, but rather begins with the younger groups, as building a bright future for the sport of golf requires focusing on refining emerging talents and developing them from a young age.
Major General Al Hashemi added, “Cooperation with the Ministry of Education will play a fundamental role in introducing the game to schools on a broader scale, in order to develop the skills of the next generation.”
The meeting touched on the federation’s future plans, which include organizing more local and international tournaments, which will reflect positively in increasing the representation of Emirati golfers in international forums and enhancing the UAE’s position as a prestigious sports destination.
