Urgent.. The Nobel Peace Prize jury ignores "Trump" And give it to"Machado"

The Nobel Peace Committee ignored US President Donald Trump in its announcement issued today, awarding the prize to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, despite Trump’s mediation in the peace agreement between Israel and Hamas to end the bloody war in Gaza.

According to what was reported by the newspaper “Daily Mail” On Friday, Jorgen Watten Fredens, Chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee in Oslo, said that the award went to Machado in recognition of her continued efforts to promote the democratic rights of the people of Venezuela, and her striving for a peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.

The committee’s selection came in contradiction to the speculation that prevailed during the weeks. The past, after Trump’s name topped the unofficial nominations lists, especially after his announcement of the twenty-item peace plan to end the conflict in Gaza, which led to an interim agreement between Israel and Hamas stipulating the cessation of fighting, the release of the hostages, and opening the way to a permanent calm.

Although Trump presented himself as a peacemaker and bridge builder in the East Middle East, the committee did not include his name on the final list that closed last January, before he officially returned to the White House for his second term. The regulations indicate that this year’s award is allocated for works completed during the year 2024, the year in which Trump was elected but has not yet assumed power.

Over the past months, Trump received more than ten nominations for the award from international figures, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Cambodian Prime Minister. Hon Manit, in addition to legislators from the United States, Sweden and Norway. However, nominations alone do not guarantee that names will be included in the final list, which the committee keeps strictly confidential.

In recent weeks, Trump has sought to strengthen his image as a peacemaker, as he himself announced the agreement between Israel and Hamas, describing it as “the most prominent achievement.” In his second term, he stressed that he succeeded in “ending six wars.” Within a short period. Norwegian media also reported that he personally contacted the former head of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, to lobby for his support in winning the award.

On the other hand, a number of experts believed that Trump had not yet met the criteria for the Nobel Prize set by its founder, Alfred Nobel, which are to work for brotherhood among nations and reduce armies. Promoting peace conferences. Nina Graeger, director of the Peace Research Institute in Oslo, said that during Trump’s first term, the United States’ withdrawal from the World Health Organization and the Paris Climate Agreement, and his launching of trade wars against his allies, are inconsistent with the concept of global peace.

Despite the criticism, observers believe that Trump’s mediation in Gaza may put him at the top of the nominations list next year, If his plan succeeds in establishing a ceasefire and preparing the ground for lasting peace in the region.

This comes at a time when Russia announced its support for Trump’s nomination for the prestigious award, while Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his willingness to nominate him in exchange for Kiev obtaining American Tomahawk missiles.

Despite his absence from the Nobel podium this year, Trump continues to insist that he is a “global peacemaker,” considering that being ignored by the Nobel Committee represents a “major insult,” while observers believe that ignoring does not negate the fact that the Gaza agreement, if successful, will go down in history as the most important diplomatic achievement in his second term.
