In an area rich in gas… dead and kidnapped following attacks in Mozambique

Three people were killed and 11 children were kidnapped in Witnessed by North Friday, including an attack on the town of Palma, located in an area rich in gas, according to what local residents reported.
A military official said that about a dozen gunmen stormed the town after midnight, entered a number of homes, killed one person, and kidnapped seven girls and four boys.
Another attack was also reported on the town of Nangadi. The nearby province resulted in the death of two people and the burning of a church and several homes.
Violence
The province of Cabo Delgado, located in the north of the country, has witnessed an escalation in violence in recent months, which led to the displacement of thousands of residents and the suspension of some humanitarian relief activities, according to the United Nations.
The region is considered one of the poorest , but it includes huge gas fields that have attracted billions of dollars in investments, most notably a project by the French company Total Energy worth $20 billion.
