المملكة: The Heritage Authority registers 1,516 new archaeological sites in the National Register of Antiquities

Declared The Heritage Authority announced the registration of 1,516 new archaeological sites in the National Register of Antiquities, as part of its continuing efforts to monitor and document archaeological sites in various regions of the Kingdom, to preserve this National Heritageand to highlight its historical and cultural value.
The Commission confirmed that the registered sites were distributed over a number of regions of the Kingdom, most notably the Riyadh region, which registered 1,174 sites, bringing its total sites to 3,079 sites, followed by the Tabuk region with 85 new sites for a total of 1,161 sites, then the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region with three new sites for a total of 750 sites.
Archaeological sites
In addition to the registration of 184 new sites in the Al-Baha region, with a total of 313 sites, and 70 sites in the northern border region, for a total of 359 sites.
With this, the total number of archaeological sites registered in the National Register of Antiquities rose to 11,577 sites, which reflects the Heritage Authority’s commitment to protecting the national heritage and documenting the Kingdom’s historical sites. cultural, and to enhance its presence on the global map of human heritage.
