The Ministry of Health said that this recognition from the World Health Organization is a direct result of the vision of our wise leadership and its firm commitment to making human well-being and health at the core of the national development process.
She continued: "According to Saudi Vision 2030, we are not just building cities, we are creating vibrant and healthy communities for generations to come. This accreditation reflects the result of teamwork and integration between various sectors and government agencies that have placed human health at the top of their priorities".

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has also become a regional center for transferring knowledge and experience in this field, as it hosts the first WHO Collaborating Center for Healthy Cities in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, which played an active role in evaluating 14 cities in other countries, and contributed to building regional capacities, enhancing the shared vision of sustainable urban health, and supporting efforts aimed at achieving balanced health development and promoting Community awareness of the importance of health and well-being as essential elements for building prosperous societies"LTR">.
