The Sharjah Government showcases innovative digital experiences for environmental sustainability at GITEX 2025

Dubai, 14 October / WAM / The Sharjah Government Pavilion at the GITEX 2025 exhibition showcased a group of innovative digital projects that redefine environmental sustainability through smart solutions that combine food, health and environmental quality.
Engineer Lamia Al-Hussan Al Shamsi, Director of the Sharjah Digital Department, said that the Sharjah Government is presenting, through a unified pavilion at the exhibition, the emirate’s digital transformation journey through interactive experiences and realistic success stories that reflect the integration between government agencies and strategic partnerships with the private sector.
She pointed out that the department, in the presence of Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, its Director General, and His Excellency Rashid Ali Ibrahim Al Ali, Executive Director of the Sharjah Communications Technology Authority, signed an agreement with the company “E&” to manage advanced infrastructure that contributes to enhancing the efficiency of government communication and supporting the sustainability of technical development in the emirate.
She added that the pavilion also witnessed the launch of the “Smart Parks in Khor Fakkan” project, which was developed by the Khor Fakkan Municipality with the aim of designing and implementing 9 technologies supported by artificial intelligence to transform the city’s parks into integrated, effective and highly responsive environments. She explained that these technologies focus on enhancing operational workflow, improving the experiences of visitors and employees, enhancing the management of green spaces, in addition to strengthening security measures.
She noted that the project relies on edge processing with artificial intelligence (Edge AI), strong API integrations, and devices that ensure scalability and speed of deployment.
For its part, the Department of Agriculture and Livestock reviewed the comprehensive digital “Agricultural Development Platform” for the agriculture and livestock sector, which aims to support decision-making and achieve sustainable development in the emirate.
The platform provides accurate statistics and real-time data that enable decision makers to access clear insights that help them make effective decisions based on scientific foundations.
This platform constitutes an essential pillar in the digital integration of the sector and enhancing the efficiency of services provided to farmers and livestock owners.
The department highlighted the “Sufficiency – Automation of Supply Chains” project, which harnesses industrial automation and Internet of Things technologies to develop operational services in the sector in line with national trends towards digital integration and achieving sustainability. The project relies on the implementation of smart and integrated applications based on collecting and analyzing data and making accurate real-time decisions in a number of strategic locations, including the Maliha factory, wild poultry barns, wheat harvesting robots, and cow barn robots, as part of a comprehensive development plan that focuses on improving operational efficiency and increasing productivity and quality of products, which contributes to enhancing food security in the emirate and the UAE.
These projects come within the “environmental sustainability” system, which combines agriculture, livestock, and green city projects within a single framework based on data and smart technologies.
