Gaza Municipality: The aid entering the Strip is insufficient for the population’s large needs
Gaza municipality spokesman, Hosni Nadeem Muhanna, confirmed that the aid reaching the Gaza Strip until this moment is insufficient to meet the great needs of the Strip’s population after the devastating war that continued for two consecutive years of genocide.
Muhanna said – in a telephone interview with the Cairo News Channel today, Friday – “480 aid trucks It entered the Gaza Strip yesterday, according to the government media office in Gaza, including 3 trucks of cooking gas and 6 trucks of fuel. During the previous days, 170 trucks entered the Gaza Strip, which are small quantities, while the Gaza Strip’s need for aid, food, and other materials is very large.
He added that we need great international pressure on the occupation. The Israeli government, in order to allow the entry of everything needed into the exhausted and greatly destroyed Gaza Strip, stressing the necessity of introducing the necessary equipment and mechanisms for reconstruction.
He explained that 85% of the Gaza Strip was destroyed, as the occupation destroyed buildings, homes, and service facilities in addition to the infrastructure, so there is an urgent need to enter temporary housing first and then introduce specialized heavy and medium machinery. necessary to remove the rubble and rubble of destroyed homes, as there are more than 50 million tons of rubble in the Strip, according to preliminary statistics of international institutions.
He pointed out the necessity of removing the rubble and rubble in order to allow citizens to return to their homes and move freely in areas and roads that are difficult for citizens to reach in light of the large volume of rubble.
He stressed that there is now difficulty for municipal crews. After the occupation destroyed the machinery and equipment, as the Gaza Municipality only has one mechanism that is currently working as a top priority in the process of opening streets and roads, so our priority at this stage is for heavy machinery and equipment.
