The men’s hockey team defeats Ghana in the African Nations Championship… and faces South Africa in the final

The men’s national hockey team defeated its Ghanaian counterpart 7-3 in the fifth and final round of the African Nations Championship, which Egypt is hosting at the Suez Canal Authority stadiums in Ismailia Governorate until October 18.

 

In previous matches, the national team won against Zambia 8-1, Kenya 2-1, Nigeria 6-3, and tied against South Africa. 3-3.

 

This leads the tournament standings with 13 points, followed by South Africa with 10 points, then Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya with the same score of 6 points, and finally Zambia with no points. South Africa is scheduled to face its counterpart Nigeria today for the same round.

 

With this Results: The Egyptian national team qualified for the final match, which will be held tomorrow against South Africa.

 

The tournament is of special importance as it is the twelfth edition of the men’s tournament, and it is also a qualifier for the 2026 World Championship scheduled to be held in Belgium and the Netherlands.
