Guardiola announces the date of his retirement from coaching

Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, jokingly commented on the possibility of taking a future break, taking the advice of his former assistant Carles Blanchardt, and confirmed that “he will start thinking about this matter in 2035.”
Guardiola, whose contract with City extends until the end of the 2026-2027 season, said during the press conference before facing Everton in the English Premier League: “He may be right, in 2035 I will think about the matter.”
The Spanish coach added: “We have witnessed almost major changes over the past year, yet the energy of the technical staff and the new players is still available. In Barcelona and Bayern Munich, if I faced any major problem, I would have stepped aside, but here that did not happen.”
Guardiola explained: “We have not been the same people from the beginning. The relationship with the club management is very strong, and it is not just about me. Many members of the technical staff have left and each of them has their own preferences. However, I am here in front of you now, and we will see what the future holds.”
He stressed at the conclusion of his speech: “At the present time, I feel sufficient energy and I believe that we are capable of providing a better performance compared to last season. This is my goal. I will not stop at the beginning of November or December to announce any expectations, but we are gradually improving in each match, and there is still a lot of room for improvement, and this gives me the motivation to continue here and continue working.”
