Hamdan bin Mohammed adopts a package of qualitative initiatives and projects with the aim of accelerating the pace of digital transformation in Dubai

DUBAI, 19th October, 2018 (WAM) – His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, confirmed that Dubai is moving steadily towards achieving its future vision of being the fastest and most prepared city to adopt future technology and artificial intelligence, based on the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, his patronage. May God, in building an integrated digital economy based on knowledge and innovation, strengthen Dubai’s position as a global capital of advanced technologies.
This came while His Highness chaired the second meeting of the Supreme Committee for Future Technology and the Digital Economy for the year 2025, during which the meeting reviewed what had been accomplished during the last period, in addition to adopting a package of new qualitative projects and initiatives that aim to enhance the adoption of future technologies and accelerate the pace of digital transformation in various vital sectors in the Emirate of Dubai.
His Highness said: “Our direction is clear, and our priorities are specific. We are working to enhance the readiness of our government institutions to deal with future transformations, and to harness artificial intelligence to provide qualitative, more efficient, safer and more innovative services, in line with the aspirations of the wise leadership and enhance Dubai’s competitiveness on the global stage. His Highness pointed out that artificial intelligence and the digital economy represent a fundamental pillar in achieving the goals of Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and Dubai’s vision to transform into the smartest city in the world.”
His Highness noted that integration between government agencies is the basis for success, and joint work is the true guarantee for achieving an effective and sustainable impact in the process of digital transformation, stressing that Dubai seeks to build a system that works with a single thought, shares data, accelerates the pace, and puts the interests of society and humanity at the top of its priorities, which enhances its ability to keep pace with rapid transformations and formulate government work models. More efficient and innovative.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum added that Dubai will remain an incubator for minds, a destination for innovators, and a global center for developing future solutions through the integration of technology, knowledge and will, indicating that every step it takes in the path of technological and economic transformation is a step towards establishing a global development model based on intelligence, flexibility and proactiveness, and embodies its vision of building a sustainable economy. During the meeting of the Supreme Committee for Future Technology and the Digital Economy, His Highness approved the launch of the “Artificial Intelligence Architecture Enhancement Platform,” with the aim of enabling government agencies in Dubai to accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies and expand their use in various vital sectors. The platform provides an integrated and secure digital environment, combining advanced infrastructure and smart services ready for use, enabling organizations to develop solutions and services supported by artificial intelligence with higher quality, shorter time, and lower cost, while ensuring the highest levels of cybersecurity and reliability.
The platform focuses on achieving three main goals, including accelerating the implementation of government use cases to raise the level of readiness of entities in adopting artificial intelligence technologies, raising operational efficiency and reducing costs by developing a shared digital infrastructure that enables the optimal use of resources, and enhancing the governance and cybersecurity system to ensure the protection of government data and maintaining its reliability.
The meeting also witnessed the adoption of the formation of the “Artificial Intelligence Adoption Acceleration Team in the Emirate of Dubai”, with the aim of enhancing integration between government agencies, and unifying the strategic vision for adopting artificial intelligence applications within an integrated system that supports digital transformation efforts in the emirate. The formation of the team is based on the results of the discussions conducted by the Dubai Center for the Uses of Artificial Intelligence with artificial intelligence executives in 27 government agencies, which revealed the most prominent challenges in this field.
The team will work to activate institutional integration, accelerate the decision-making mechanism, and achieve positive impact at various levels, by implementing strategic goals based on accelerating the adoption of future technology, enhancing Dubai’s position as a global center for artificial intelligence, and enabling and supporting the governance of the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also approved the “Unicorn 30 Program”, which was prepared by the Dubai Chamber for the Digital Economy with the participation of 80 local and international companies specialized in the field of entrepreneurship and startups, with the aim of supporting the growth of 30 companies in new sectors to become global billionaire companies starting from Dubai. The launch of the program comes under the umbrella of the Dubai Entrepreneurs Headquarters to ensure the adoption of the best international practices in empowering startup companies and enhancing the digital economy system.
The program includes 10 major initiatives covering the areas of finance, growth, legislation, governance, and other strategic pillars that ensure the achievement of its goals in consolidating Dubai’s position as a global center for entrepreneurship and an ideal environment for the emergence and development of billion-dollar companies in the fields of technology and the new economy.
The meeting’s agenda touched on plans to organize the most prominent edition of GITEX Dubai, which is scheduled to be organized in December 2026, in a new station that constitutes a qualitative shift in the history of the exhibition, which extends for more than 45 years, with its move from the Dubai World Trade Center to Expo City Dubai.
The 2026 edition represents a qualitative shift in the international agenda of technical events, as it allows providing deeper content, enhancing the global media presence, and attracting elite executive leaders and decision-makers from various countries of the world, ensuring the provision of an unparalleled experience through advanced infrastructure and a sustainable green environment that keeps pace with Dubai’s aspirations for the future.
During the meeting, the business and results report was reviewed, which included the most prominent completed projects, including the opening of the Dubai Real Estate Technology Center last July, which is the first of its kind in the region, and seeks to become the largest gathering of real estate technology companies in the Middle East and North Africa region by 2030. The center aims to attract 200 companies specialized in this sector and create more than 3,000 specialized jobs, in addition to supporting Dubai’s innovation-based economy through… 171 new construction jobs.
His Highness also reviewed the business strategy of the “Founders’ Headquarters”, the establishment of which was approved during the first meeting of the 2025 Committee and inaugurated by His Highness, where he listened to an explanation about the services it provides, the programs and capabilities it provides to entrepreneurs, and reviewed the development plans aimed at strengthening its role as a pivotal station for empowering emerging companies and supporting the entrepreneurship system in Dubai.
The meeting was attended by members of the Supreme Committee for Future Technology and the Digital Economy, namely His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Chamber for Digital Economy, Vice Chairman of the Committee, His Excellency Helal Saeed Al Marri, Working Director of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, Director General of the Dubai Digital Authority, His Excellency Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, and His Excellency Ahmed Bin Byat, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Chamber for Digital Economy, His Excellency Malek Al Malek, Director General of the Dubai Development Authority and CEO of TECOM Group, Arif Amiri, CEO of the Dubai International Financial Centre, and Maha Al Muzaina, General Rapporteur of the Committee.
It is worth noting that the Supreme Committee for Future Technology and the Digital Economy was formed under the chairmanship of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and aims to chart the future of artificial intelligence, develop plans for investment in the world of the metaverse, and build partnerships aimed at strengthening the digital economy of the Emirate of Dubai. It undertakes the tasks of studying and preparing policies and directions for the digital economy and future technologies that include the metaverse, artificial intelligence, and blockchain. Virtual reality, augmented reality, the Internet of Things, data centers and cloud computing in the Emirate of Dubai, and supervising the implementation of strategies related to the digital economy and future technologies in the emirate.
