Dubai Chambers raises awareness of the business community about corporate structuring laws and commercial contracts

Dubai, October 20 / WAM / Dubai Chambers continues to raise awareness of the business community about the legislative aspects and compliance requirements in various economic sectors, as it organized two workshops with the participation of representatives of the local private sector on corporate structuring laws and commercial contracts.
The first workshop was organized in cooperation with PwC Legal in the Middle East, and it addressed the most prominent risks and opportunities related to developing strategic frameworks and effective practical visions to structure operational processes across multiple markets.
Participants reviewed realistic case studies and learned about the best practices used to design effective institutional structures that ensure compliance with various legal systems and legislation.
The workshop addressed a number of fundamental topics, including the legal and regulatory framework in the UAE, work frameworks in the trade sectors related to goods, products and the services sector, in addition to the basic legal considerations for contracting between free zone companies and their counterparts on the mainland, in addition to opportunities related to improving the structure of companies from a legal, tax and customs perspective.
The second workshop was held under the title “Simplifying the Mechanism for Understanding Contracts” in cooperation with TCGG and KLM Law, and aimed to simplify the content of contracts and divide them into clear and easy-to-understand parts, by presenting practical examples and case studies that enabled participants to enhance their confidence in understanding legal contracts and dealing with them effectively. The workshop came in response to the rapid growth witnessed by Dubai as a global commercial center, and the increasing importance of documenting agreements in the modern business environment.
The workshop touched on a set of basic elements, including the introduction and importance of the contract, the scope of work, the main specific obligations, the duration and termination of the contract, the choice of jurisdiction and its effect, and dispute settlement mechanisms.
