Qatar: The success of the agreement to end the war in Gaza is a collective responsibility

Qatar reaffirmed that the success of the first phase of the agreement to end the war in the Gaza Strip is a collective responsibility to ensure its implementation, leading to a comprehensive cessation of war and the achievement of peace and stability in the region, within the framework of full compliance with the principles of the Charter and international law.

 

The Qatar News Agency reported that this came in a statement by the State of Qatar delivered by Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani. She indicated that the State of Qatar once again welcomes the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the New York Declaration regarding the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, and appreciates the leadership role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic in this regard, and also welcomes the positive positions To the countries that took the initiative to recognize the State of Palestine, which confirms the eligibility of the State of Palestine to full membership in the United Nations.

She stressed that for the success of the peace settlement and the two-state solution, measures that undermine this solution must be rejected, including the expansion of settlement in the West Bank, settler violence, and the seizure of Palestinian lands, stressing that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the Palestinian territories and the Palestinian state. The State of Qatar conveyed in the strongest terms the condemnation of the Israeli Knesset’s approval of two draft laws aimed at imposing Israeli sovereignty over the occupied West Bank, and considered it a challenge to international law and international legitimacy resolutions, and urged the international community, especially the Security Council, to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and take urgent action to oblige the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their expansion plans and settlement policy. In the occupied Palestinian territories.

It reaffirmed the State of Qatar’s support for the Syrian Arab Republic, its sovereignty, regional and national unity, and the fulfillment of the aspirations of its people for stability and development, and its condemnation of the Israeli attacks on Syria, which are a serious violation of international law. It also reiterated the State of Qatar’s firm position in support of the Lebanese Republic and the efforts made by the Lebanese government, stressing the necessity of the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from all Lebanese territories, and calling on all parties to strictly adhere to the ceasefire agreement.

The statement concluded by emphasizing the State of Qatar’s adherence to the approach that it has always followed with all sincerity and credibility for the peaceful settlement of disputes through dialogue.
