The Knowledge Authority and INJAZ Emirates sign a cooperation agreement to establish a culture of entrepreneurship among Dubai students

The Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai has concluded a cooperation agreement with INJAZ Emirates, the leading non-profit organization in teaching entrepreneurship skills and youth empowerment, and a member of the global Junior Achievement Foundation, to provide entrepreneurship, labor market readiness and financial culture programs for students in Dubai in line with the objectives of the Dubai Education Strategy 2033.
The agreement includes designing and implementing experiential learning programs for students in the areas of entrepreneurship, labor market readiness, financial culture, developing professional skills for rising generations, exchanging knowledge, experiences and best practices related to developing their skills and involving the private sector.
This came during an event organized by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai in cooperation with the Emirates Injaz Foundation, which focused on entrepreneurship, financial culture and preparation for the labor market, in the presence of Aisha Abdullah Miran, Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, and Faisal bin Juma Belhoul, the new Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Injaz Foundation, and with the participation of approximately 30 private schools in Dubai, in addition to student entrepreneurs in a number of private schools in the emirate.
The event highlighted the importance of including entrepreneurship concepts in the educational journey of students, as a discussion session moderated by Nayla Al-Moussawi, Director of Social Responsibility Programs for Accenture in the UAE, focused on empowering rising generations with entrepreneurship skills and preparing them for the future, with the participation of Dr. Fatima Bu Ali, Acting Director of the Quality Improvement Department at the Knowledge Authority. and Human Development in Dubai, Dr. Ghadeer Abu Shamat, Principal of GEMS Gulf International School and Executive Vice President at GEMS Education, Mohammed Bahaa, Managing Director of the Private Sector in the Middle East and North Africa at APCO, David Carroll, Senior Vice President of Treasury and Trade for the Middle East and Africa at Citibank, and Zainab Abdel Hamid, a student winner of the “Company of the Year” award organized by Emirates Injaz Foundation.
Empowering learners
Dr. Amna Al Mazmi, Executive Director of the Development and Human Development Sector at the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, said: “The Dubai Education Strategy 2033 focuses on empowering all learners with the skills of the future in line with the objectives of the Dubai Plan 2033 and its economic and social agendas, with a focus on entrepreneurship, readiness for the labor market, and financial culture. Pioneering projects
The students participating in the event gave presentations about their projects in the fields of entrepreneurship. The students from Dubai National School – Al Twar Branch, who won the “Corporate Program” title at the state level this year, presented their project “Raicom”, which will represent the UAE in the regional qualifiers for the Youth Entrepreneurship Celebration organized by “Injaz Al Arab” at the end of this October. The event also witnessed the participation of student teams with innovative student projects that reflect their inspiring ideas and future visions.
INJAZ Emirates also gave a presentation to the participants about its programs in the fields of financial culture, entrepreneurship, and readiness for the labor market, emphasizing the role of innovation and entrepreneurship as a major key to success.
The Dubai Education Strategy 2033 aims to bring about a qualitative transformation in the educational system, by putting the student first, and meeting the diverse individual needs and ambitions of all students, to ensure that they are prepared with the skills and opportunities necessary for success at every stage of their lives, from early education to higher education and beyond, to be active members in Dubai’s future.
