Egypt welcomes the ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia
The Arab Republic of Egypt welcomed today, Monday, the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Cambodia reaching a ceasefire agreement, under American sponsorship, on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.
Egypt stressed – in a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration – the importance of this step within the framework of enhancing security, stability and regional cooperation, and appreciates the sincere efforts. US President Donald Trump, to reach an agreement to resolve the conflict through peaceful means.
Egypt stressed the necessity of resorting to diplomatic solutions and constructive dialogue to resolve differences, stressing its support for all initiatives and efforts aimed at settling disputes through peaceful means.
