The UAE Parliamentary Division participates in the meetings of the Arab Parliament committees in Cairo
Cairo, October 28 / WAM / The Parliamentary Division Group of the Federal National Council in the Arab Parliament, headed by His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi, Chairman of the Group, President of the Arab Parliament, participated in the meetings of the Parliament’s permanent committees that were held today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo.
The UAE Parliamentary Division group includes His Excellency: Naima Abdullah Al Sharhan, Vice-Chairman of the group, member of the Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs Committee, Majid Mohammed Al Mazrouei, member of the Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee, and Mohammed Hassan Al Dhahouri, member of the Economic and Financial Affairs Committee, members of the Federal National Council.
According to the agenda of the committee meetings, His Excellency Muhammad Al-Yamahi chaired the meeting of the Palestine Committee, which discussed the latest developments in the situation in Palestine, especially in light of the signing of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement, and the activity of the Arab Parliament at the international level in support of the Palestinian cause. He also participated in the meeting of the Foreign, Political and National Security Affairs Committee, where political and security developments in the Arab world were discussed, and a report on the project “An Arab Vision for Strengthening Parliamentary Diplomacy to Defuse Crises and Prevent the Eruption of Conflicts” was discussed. During the activation of preventive diplomacy,” and its draft plan of action during the second session of the fourth legislative term.
Her Excellency Naima Al-Sharhan indicated that the Committee for Social, Educational, Cultural, Women and Youth Affairs discussed the report on the development of e-learning in the Arab world, and the memorandum of the General Secretariat on promoting mental health in educational institutions. It also discussed the developments in the organization of a number of activities, including; Launching the Arab guiding document to enable social entrepreneurship, holding a workshop to discuss the mechanisms necessary to provide care and protection in war and conflict zones, holding a symposium on protecting antiquities in the Arab world, and a symposium on protecting societal values in Arab countries.
In turn, His Excellency Muhammad Al-Dhahouri said that the Financial and Economic Affairs Committee discussed the draft budget of the Arab Parliament for the year 2026, and held a regional workshop to support Arab countries in enacting legislation on regulating the fight against food loss and waste, and reviewed the results of the 116th session of the Economic and Social Council held last September, in addition to discussing the committee’s work plan for the current session.
His Excellency Majid Al Mazrouei said that the Legislative, Legal and Human Rights Affairs Committee reviewed the committee’s draft work plan for its current session, and discussed the draft “Arab parliamentary vision for consumer protection in the Arab world in light of globalization,” and the memorandum of the General Secretariat of the Arab Parliament on the mechanism of cooperation and coordination with the Permanent Arab Committee for International Humanitarian Law emanating from the League of Arab States.
