"Digital Integration Committee" In Sharjah, it discusses the achievements of digital transformation and the development of government services

Sharjah, June 2, 2017 (WAM) – During its third meeting held yesterday at the headquarters of the Sharjah Digital Department, headed by Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of the Department, the Supreme Committee for Digital Integration in Sharjah reviewed the latest developments in the implementation of digital transformation initiatives in the emirate, and reviewed the most prominent achievements achieved since the previous meeting, in addition to a number of national and global trends affecting the digital transformation process, including emerging technologies and artificial intelligence and the opportunities they provide to enhance the efficiency of government work and develop government services.

The meeting, which was attended by members of the committee and representatives of relevant government agencies, comes within the framework of the emirate’s efforts to enhance digital integration among government agencies, follow up on the implementation of digital transformation priorities, and develop a joint digital infrastructure that contributes to raising the efficiency of government services, accelerating data exchange, and supporting decision-making in a way that enhances the emirate’s readiness for the future.

The committee discussed the proposed directions for digital transformation in the business sector and the construction and real estate sectors, through specialized studies that cover the sector’s cycle in an integrated manner and focus on redesigning services and trips from the customer’s perspective, enhancing integration between government agencies, simplifying procedures and improving the customer experience in a way that supports achieving a tangible impact at the emirate level.

The meeting also reviewed the digital transformation project in the business sector with the participation of a number of relevant authorities, including the Supreme Committee for Economic Integration and the Department of Economic Development, where opportunities for developing a more integrated model for services and procedures related to economic and investment activities were discussed and enhancing coordination between relevant authorities in a way that supports the business environment and raises the emirate’s competitiveness.

The committee reviewed the digital transformation project in the construction and real estate sector with the participation of the Department of Municipal Affairs, the Sharjah City Municipality, the Department of Planning and Surveying, and the Real Estate Registration Department, which focuses on enhancing integration between entities, services, and digital platforms related to the sector, and taking advantage of existing capabilities to simplify procedures, improve customer experience, and raise the efficiency of government services.

The committee continues its role in supervising the implementation of digital transformation priorities and enhancing integration between government agencies to ensure harmonization of efforts, unification of digital capabilities, and accelerating the implementation of initiatives that have a common impact at the emirate level.
