The Foreign Minister receives his Sudanese counterpart

Dr. received Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Affairs Abroad, and Ambassador Mohieldin Salem, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sisterly Republic of Sudan, today, Wednesday, where the two ministers discussed the latest developments on the Sudanese scene, especially the situation in the city of El Fasher and the humanitarian and security developments it is witnessing.

 

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdel Ati stressed Egypt’s full support for the brotherly Sudanese people, and its commitment to continuing its efforts aimed at   And alleviate the suffering of civilians. Minister Abdel-Aty also stressed Egypt’s adherence to Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national institutions, stressing that Sudan’s security and stability are an integral part of the security and stability of the region.

The two ministers reviewed aspects of cooperation between the two sides in the areas of trade and investment, and repair and rehabilitation of infrastructure, as Minister Abdel-Aty stressed Egypt’s readiness to expand cooperation in the sectors of electricity, water, health, and education in support of the needs of the brotherly Sudanese people. 

The meeting dealt with the water security file, where The unity of the position of the two countries as two countries downstream of the Nile River was stressed, and the necessity of full compliance with international law in the eastern Nile Basin, and complete rejection of unilateral measures in the Nile River.

The meeting concluded by emphasizing the keenness of the two sides to continue coordination and close consultation, in a way that strengthens the bonds of historical brotherhood between Egypt and Sudan and supports the aspirations of the two peoples towards security, development and stability.
