The Authority stated that the initiative aims to develop innovative applied research in the field of cybersecurity, support opportunities for its adoption and direct it towards areas of national priority, and confront the challenges of the cybersecurity industry in various sectors.

This will contribute to stimulating the growth of this industry at the national level, enhancing cybersecurity in the Kingdom, and supporting strategic efforts aimed at developing the cybersecurity sector, and keeping pace with global trends in the sector.

Cybersecurity Industry

The “Innovation Grants for Cybersecurity Industry Challenges” initiative focuses on enhancing cooperation between public and private sectors, and researchers and innovators in the field of cybersecurity in academic and research bodies. To face current and future cyber challenges, in eight national priority areas in cybersecurity.

These areas include: “The next generation of cyber defense, enhancing cyber resilience, the security of operational and industrial technologies, cyber security in artificial intelligence, cryptography and quantum security, behavioral cyber security, the future of cyber threats and attacks, and cyber security policies and regulations.”

The National Program in Cyber Security

It is the “National Program for Research, Development and Innovation in Cyber Security”, which It is implemented by the Authority in cooperation with its technical arm, the Saudi Information Technology Company "Site" One of the main capabilities.

In order to anticipate future cyber challenges and open broad horizons to enhance scientific research and promising innovations in the field of cyber security, and to consolidate the Kingdom’s position globally as a producer of safe and reliable cyber technologies and their economic engine.

The program also contributes to enhancing the sustainability of local and international partnerships for research and innovation in cyber security, and providing a stimulating and supportive environment for researchers and experts in the field.
