Sharm El-Sheikh International Youth Theater Festival appreciates the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum

 The management of the Sharm El-Sheikh International Youth Theater Festival, headed by artist and director Mazen Al-Gharbawi, expressed its deep appreciation and pride in the historic event represented by the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is considered one of the most important cultural and civilizational projects in the twenty-first century, and an honorable showcase for Egypt to the world.

The festival management confirmed – in a statement today, Saturday – that the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum does not only represent the culmination of huge efforts in preserving human heritage and Egyptian civilization. It also constitutes a cultural, tourism and economic achievement that enhances Egypt’s position as a global center for culture, arts and tourism.

 

She added, “This giant edifice opens its doors to be a witness to the greatness of Egyptian history and a source of inspiration for new generations of creators in various fields, most notably theatre, which has always been inspired by ancient Egyptian civilization with its symbols and values.” And its human being.

 

Al-Gharabawi said that the Sharm El-Sheikh International Youth Theater Festival, as one of the most important artistic festivals that hosts creative people from various countries of the world, sees in this opening a message of peace, culture and enlightenment, confirming that Egypt is still capable of combining the ancient past with the renewed present.

The Grand Egyptian Museum is a new engine for cultural tourism and an important source of national income, which reflects the faith of the Egyptian state. The importance of culture as a soft force that supports sustainable development and enhances national identity. 

The Sharm El-Sheikh International Youth Theater Festival is held under the auspices of the Egyptian Ministries of Culture, headed by Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, headed by Minister Sherif Fathi, and the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, headed by Engineer Ahmed Youssef.

 

The festival also enjoys support from the South Sinai Governorate, led by Major General Dr. Khaled. Mubarak, while the tenth session of the festival is directed by Dr. Angie El-Bastawi, and the session bears the name of the great artist Elham Shaheen in honor of her rich artistic career and continuous support for theater and arts issues.

 

The festival’s Supreme Committee is headed by producer Hisham Soliman, and the honorary presidency of the festival is the late lady of Arab theater, Samiha Ayoub.
