Jordanian Foreign Minister: The partition of Gaza cannot be allowed… and we will not participate with forces in the Strip

Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Al-Safadi, said that the division of Gaza cannot be allowed, as it is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory, and any permanent solution requires that Gaza and the West Bank remain united under one umbrella.
This came during his participation, in a dialogue session entitled “The Future of Global Security Governance” Within the activities of the twenty-first session of the Manama Dialogue 2025, along with German Foreign Minister Dr. Johann David Vadifol and British Foreign and Development Secretary Yvette Cooper.
Safadi stressed that the priority at the current stage is to ensure full compliance with the Gaza ceasefire agreement with all its provisions, work to address the catastrophic repercussions of the war, and link stabilization efforts to a real political horizon that leads to a just and lasting peace on the basis of The two-state solution is the only way to end the conflict.
He explained that the Arab-Islamic group will continue to work with the United States and European partners to stabilize the ceasefire, appreciating the role of US President Donald Trump in reaching the agreement.
The Jordanian minister stressed the need to form an integrated system after the ceasefire, including the introduction of humanitarian aid, early recovery, ensuring security, consolidating governance, and opening a political horizon. Realistic.
He added that Jordan will not participate with forces in Gaza, stressing at the same time the Kingdom’s pivotal role in directing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and its readiness to contribute to the training of the Palestinian police and to cooperate with any international force formed by a decision of the Security Council through training and participation in command and control.
Safadi also called for setting a timetable for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, indicating that they still control About 53% of its territory, which makes achieving security impossible.
He stressed that the Palestinians must take charge of managing their affairs themselves after achieving security in Gaza, and that the technocratic committee whose formation is being discussed should be linked to the Palestinian National Authority.
Safadi called for the launch of an international aid mission with a clear mandate to support the Palestinians in reconstruction, planning and institution-building. Stressing the need for humanitarian aid to continue to enter in an adequate and sustainable manner, and for Israel to remove all obstacles to its arrival.
He stressed that the stability of the West Bank is a fundamental foundation for the stability of Gaza, indicating that any deterioration in the West Bank will undermine all efforts made in the Strip.
With regard to the Palestinian Authority, Al-Safadi stressed the need to support it as the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, and praised On the commitment of President Mahmoud Abbas to carry out the required reforms.
Regarding the Syrian and Lebanese affairs, the Jordanian minister stressed the importance of supporting the Syrian government in rebuilding efforts in a way that guarantees Syria’s unity, stability and sovereignty, and stopping the repeated Israeli attacks on its lands. He also stressed the need to preserve Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty and stability and preserve its national institutions.
On the sidelines of his participation in the dialogue, Al-Safadi conducted A series of bilateral meetings with a number of his counterparts, including the foreign ministers of Germany, Britain, Yemen, Greece, the Czech Republic, and Cyprus, in addition to the Minister of State for Defense Affairs in Singapore, the Lebanese Minister of the Interior, and the French President’s Advisor for Middle East Affairs.
He also met with the American Special Envoy for Syria, Thomas Barrick, to discuss the Jordanian road map – Syrian – The joint American meeting on the stability of southern Syria, which was approved on September 16, in addition to a meeting with the Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Pierre Krahnbühl, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in delivering sustainable humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
