The Swiss Championship concludes the preliminary rounds and announces the finalists

Dubai, 2nd November / WAM / The preliminary rounds of the Saluki Championship in its nineteenth edition, organized by the Fazza Championships Department at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for Heritage Revival, concluded today after four challenging and exciting rounds on the Al Marmoom tracks with wide participation from various emirates of the country and countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The races witnessed strong competition to reserve tickets to the finals, as the top three finishers from each round qualified for the final stage scheduled for the fifth of next April.

The results of the rounds confirmed the high level of readiness for participation in the sport, with the emergence of new names that reflected the breadth of the base of this ancient, traditional sport. Saif Hamad Al Shamsi achieved the first three places in the female professional round with “Whirlwind”, “Bahja” and “Shaza”, while “Rasasi” by its owner Saeed Gharib Markhan won in the male round, followed by “Mustanis” by Amer Mohammed Al Mansouri and “Haddad” by Abdullah Suleiman Al Sawafi.

In the owners’ category, “La’saa” by Younis Shafi’ Ibrahim won first place in the female race, and “Oqab” for its owner achieved victory in the male race.

Rashid Hareb Al-Khasouni, from the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, said that the tournament confirms year after year its status as a pioneering heritage and sports platform that highlights the skill of the owners and their keenness to develop this sport, while Juma Al-Muhairi, head of the technical committee, explained that the qualifiers witnessed qualitative participation and broad public interaction, indicating that the next final will form a distinctive heritage scene befitting the history of the tournament.
