Including America and Australia… 4 countries are conducting joint naval exercises


within the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines, with the participation of a number of naval and air vessels belonging to the four countries.

It stated in a statement today said that the maneuvers were attended by the Australian frigate HMAS Ballarat and the New Zealand Navy ship HMNZS Aotearoa.

Naval exercises

The Philippine frigate BRB Jose Rizal and the American destroyer USS Fitzgerald also participated, along with the US maritime patrol aircraft P-8A Poseidon.

The exercise aims to protect freedom of navigation in accordance with United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and enhancing security cooperation and regional stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
