المملكة: Two steps for iPhone and 5 for Android.. Here is how to activate emergency alerts – Urgent

Enabling “government emergency alerts” on smartphones is a necessary step to ensuring early warning messages are received. The activation method differs between the “iPhone” and “Android” systems, as it requires precise steps to ensure that warnings are received via “cellular broadcast” technology.

For users of “iPhone” devices, the process can be completed in two basic steps: You start by opening the phone’s “Settings” and then selecting “Notifications.” After scrolling down the list, the “Urgent Alerts” and “Emergency Alerts” options are activated within the “Government Alerts” section.

For users of “Android” devices, the process requires about five steps, as you begin by entering the “Text Messages” application, then pressing the three dots “⋮” to access “Settings.” From there, choose “Advanced Settings,” then “Emergency Alerts on Mobile Devices,” and finally open “Settings” (which may be through three additional points) and activate “Wireless Emergency Alarms” to ensure that all warnings are received.

This guide comes to ensure that all smart devices that support “cellular broadcast” technology are ready to receive alerts from the National Early Warning Platform. Periodic, pre-scheduled experiments are conducted for these sirens with the aim of measuring the efficiency of the system and its operational readiness.

The fundamental difference between the experiment and the real alarm is that the experiment is announced in advance and is set at a specific time, while the real alarm is sounded suddenly and immediately when there is an imminent danger threatening lives or property. Periodic trials do not require the population to take any action, as they are not associated with any emergency and do not cause concern.
