The UAE junior national team draws with Costa Rica in the Qatar World Cup

The UAE junior national team tied with its Costa Rica national team 1-1, today, Monday, in the first round of the third group in the U-17 World Cup finals (Qatar 2025).
“White Juniors” took the lead with a beautiful goal scored by Made Adel with a perfect header in the 59th minute after a corner kick taken by Faisal Mohammed, before the Costa Rica team quickly equalized in the 62nd minute through Nick Penty, who took advantage of a mistake by goalkeeper Jassim Al Hammadi.
The match witnessed an early expulsion of Costa Rica defender Ishaq Abdullah in the 31st minute with a red card, after he explicitly blocked the UAE national team striker alone, so the Latin team completed the match with ten players, and the national team did not take advantage of the shortage in numbers from the first half for the Costa Rica team, and took advantage of that to score the winning goal in the second half, so the match ended in a positive draw with one goal for each team.
Our national team will play its second match against Croatia next Thursday, before concluding its campaign in the group stage against Senegal on November 9, with the top two teams from each group qualifying directly to the round of 32, in addition to the eight best third-place teams.
In the second match in Group C, Senegal tied with Croatia 0-0, leaving the four teams equal in number of points at the end of the first round, in an equal start to the group’s competitions.
