Sharjah National Oil Corporation announces the completion of the second well test drilling in the field "Hadiba"

Sharjah, 4 November / WAM / Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) announced a new achievement, after successfully drilling and testing the second well, “Hadiba-02”, located north of the Al Sajaa field in Sharjah, which comes as part of the evaluation and development work carried out by the corporation in the Hadiba onshore gas field.

The results of completing the drilling and testing of the “Hadiba-02” well recorded the presence of additional gas reservoirs, as the well was drilled to a total depth of 13,200 feet.

The new well will be connected to the production line in the coming months, with the drilling program for the Hadiba field continuing in the coming months to assess the full extent of the field’s reservoirs.

This achievement is an advanced step in the field’s development process after the discovery of the first well, “Hadiba-01,” in 2024, which proved the presence of gas and associated liquids within geological structures called Al-Thumama. The well, “Hadiba-01,” was brought into production within a short period, contributing to enhancing energy supplies in the emirate.

The Hadiba field is the fifth onshore gas and condensate field in the Emirate of Sharjah and the second discovery during the past five years, which reflects the success of the Emirate of Sharjah’s continuing efforts in exploration work.

Engineer Khamis Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC), confirmed that the success in drilling and testing the “Hadiba-02” well represents an important milestone in SNOC’s journey to enhance the capabilities of the Emirate of Sharjah in responding to energy requirements and securing it in the long term. This achievement reflects the corporation’s firm commitment to operational excellence, innovation and sustainable growth by continuing to develop the natural gas capabilities in the emirate, which contributes to achieving the vision aimed at ensuring the provision of reliable energy to Sharjah and building a stronger and more flexible base for its future.

For his part, Masoud Al Hammadi, Executive Director of the Exploration and Production Department of the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC), said that the success of the “Hadiba-02” well test is the result of distinguished teamwork that included the stages of geophysical and engineering studies, all the way to the planning and implementation stages. This achievement embodies the corporation’s ability to transform new discoveries into effective production with high efficiency.

Sharjah National Oil Corporation affirmed its commitment to continuing to enhance energy independence in the Emirate of Sharjah through exploring and developing its hydrocarbon resources supported by its strategic infrastructure for gas storage and processing.
