Under the chairmanship of Al-Burhan, the Sudanese Security and Defense Council holds an emergency session in Khartoum State

The Sudanese News Agency said that today the Sudanese Security and Defense Council held an emergency session in Khartoum State, headed by the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and in the presence of the entire Council membership.

The Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Hassan Daoud Kabroun, said in a press statement that the meeting discussed the security situation in the country.

 

The Council saluted the Sudanese people. And his sacrifices and mercy for the martyrs of the Battle of Al Karama, stressing his support for the families of the martyrs, prisoners and missing persons.

 

The Security and Defense Council reassured the necessary arrangements to not repeat the tragedy of the city of El Fasher and addressed the violations of the Al Dagalo militia.

 

The political, military and security situation was also reviewed on all fighting fronts in Sudan.

 

The Minister explained that the Council discussed the events in El Fasher and the grave and unprecedented violations committed by the Al-Daglo militia against civilians, which were condemned by the international community, pointing to the failure of the institutions of the international community to follow up on the implementation of their decisions not to supply the Darfur region with weapons and to lift the siege of El Fasher.

 

The Minister of Defense said that the Council also discussed the humanitarian situation in the country and the security threats. And prepare for ongoing and future operations.

 

He also touched on the initiatives presented by some countries and friends, and added that the Security and Defense Council welcomed the sincere efforts that call for an end to the suffering of the Sudanese caused by the rebel militia.

 

The Council expressed its thanks to the government of the United States of America and to the advisor to the American President, Massad Boulos, for their appreciated efforts, as well as welcoming any effort that contributes to ending the suffering.
