3 reasons, including China and Russia… behind the scenes of Trump’s decision regarding nuclear tests

Robert Kadlec, nominated for the position of US Assistant Secretary of War, admitted that the decision to resume nuclear testing was based on geopolitical considerations and that there was still no technical necessity.

Kadlec, who was nominated by US President Donald Trump for the position of Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Deterrence, Chemical and Biological Defense Policy and Programs, provided this clarification at a hearing of the US Senate Armed Services Committee.

Kadlec said: The third point boils down to whether there is a geopolitical context or basis for this matter, especially with concerns about Russia and China’s compliance with the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty.
