المملكة: “Be vigilant”… a new system for immediate reporting of drug side effects – urgent
Launched The Saudi Food and Drug Authoritylaunched the “Taqaaq” electronic system, in a purposeful step to enhance the safe use of medicines and medical preparations in the Kingdom. The new system allows users to easily report any symptoms Side side effectsof medicines, or monitoring any defect in the quality of pharmaceutical preparations.
“Taqaaz” is an interactive platform that enables citizens and residents to effectively contribute to monitoring and following up on the safety of medicines by sending reports electronically. This mechanism would contribute directly to protecting society from complications or unexpected side effects of pharmaceutical preparations.
Safe use
The new system supports the national efforts led by the National Vigilance Center of the Authority, as it aims to achieve the optimal and safe use of pharmaceutical preparations, which reflects positively on the promotion of Patient safety and improving the overall quality of health care.
The authority explained that beneficiaries can communicate to submit reports through several channels, including the email “npc.drug@sfda.gov.sa,” or calling the unified number “19999,” in addition to visiting the authority’s official website.
