Ajman Chamber participates in the meetings of the Arab Chambers in Cairo

Cairo, December 22 / WAM / His Excellency Engineer Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ajman Chamber, Member of the Council of the Federation of Emirates Chambers, representing the Union, participated in the meetings of the 136th session of the Council of the Union of Arab Chambers, within the framework of enhancing Arab economic cooperation and coordinating joint efforts between chambers of commerce.

The meetings held in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, yesterday were attended by official delegations representing 17 Arab Chamber Unions, which included heads and members of the boards of directors of chambers of commerce and industry in Arab countries.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Muwaiji, head of the Emirates Chambers delegation participating in the meetings, stressed the importance of applying social responsibility practices in the private sector, and their direct impact on raising productivity, enhancing environmental and social balance, and supporting the achievement of comprehensive sustainability.

He reviewed the UAE’s pioneering experience in applying the best practices of social responsibility in the private sector, pointing to the pivotal role played by the Emirates Chambers in supporting this trend, especially the Ajman Chamber, by educating its members from private sector establishments about the importance of preserving the environment, rationalizing energy consumption, promoting recycling practices, and improving the quality of life of workers.

Al Muwaiji presented to the attendees the latest innovative social responsibility initiatives in the Emirate of Ajman, through the cooperation agreement between the Ajman Transport Authority, “Majara” the National Fund for Social Responsibility, and Uber, to provide easy and free transportation services to senior citizens, as the initiative reflects the efforts of the government and private sectors in providing quality services that meet the needs of society and enhance the quality of life.

The meetings witnessed a meeting that brought together His Excellency Ahmed Kajouk, Minister of Finance of the Arab Republic of Egypt, with the participating delegations to discuss ways to enhance opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between Arab countries. The Minister of Finance presented an overview of the investment opportunities available in Egypt in various sectors, stressing his country’s keenness to support economic and investment partnerships with Arab countries.

The meetings covered a report on the activities and events of the General Secretariat of the Union of Arab Chambers, in addition to a number of supportive initiatives to enhance Arab cooperation with countries of the world in the fields of innovation and advanced industries. The meeting also discussed the “Economic Research Platform in the Union of Arab Chambers,” and the adoption of the final accounts of the Union for the year 2024, and the estimated budget for the year 2026.

The attendees reviewed the report on the activities of the joint Arab-foreign chambers, including the Italian, Austrian, French, Portuguese, Swiss, British and Turkish Arab chambers of commerce, within the framework of supporting economic partnerships and expanding the horizons of joint trade cooperation.

The meetings discussed the potential effects of global economic changes and customs tariffs on the Arab and global economies, in addition to the role of chambers of commerce in empowering Arab competencies in the digital age, qualifying human resources, enhancing the role of women in building the future, and applications of environmental and social sustainability, as well as reviewing the agenda of international events scheduled during the year 2026.
