"Emirates Health" Wins the UAE Award for Artificial Intelligence

Dubai, 6 November / WAM / The Emirates Health Services Corporation achieved a new achievement to be added to its distinguished record of excellence, after winning the second edition of the “Emirates Artificial Intelligence Award” in the category of the best partnership between the government and private sectors, in recognition of its pioneering efforts in strengthening the health care system in the country through the “Artificial Intelligence Partnership for Diagnostic Imaging” project, which it launched in partnership with Unison Capital Investment Company.

With this victory, the organization is one of the first entities in the country to adopt unique advanced applications, which contributed to accelerating diagnosis, supporting medical personnel, and improving health care outcomes.

His Excellency Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Community Protection, congratulated the Emirates Health Services Corporation on winning the Emirates Artificial Intelligence Award in the category of Best Partnership between the Government and Private Sectors, stressing that this achievement reflects the Corporation’s leadership in employing artificial intelligence solutions through specific projects that contributed to accelerating diagnosis and its accuracy by 99%, supporting medical personnel, and improving the quality of healthy life.

His Excellency explained that this award embodies the vision of the wise leadership in enhancing competitiveness among government agencies in the field of innovation with artificial intelligence as a basic pillar of government work and supports the establishment of effective partnerships with the private sector to enhance the efficiency of health services and raise the level of readiness for the future. He stressed that the Ministry of Health and Community Protection is continuing with its partners in developing artificial intelligence projects, in support of the objectives of the “We Are the Emirates” 2031 vision to consolidate the country’s position as a global model in future medicine based on advanced technologies.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Yousef Mohammed Al Sarkal, Director General of the Emirates Health Services Corporation, confirmed that this victory represents the culmination of a continuous path led by the Corporation to establish artificial intelligence as a basic pillar in the health care sector, and an embodiment of its efforts to achieve the vision of the wise leadership in making innovation an established culture and technology a tool to enhance the quality of life, indicating that this recognition reflects the Corporation’s vision of building an integrated health system based on innovation, integration and quality partnerships, and supports national efforts to accelerate digital transformation and adopt innovative solutions. It contributes to improving customer experience and enhancing the efficiency of health services.

This victory comes as a result of employing practical applications and pioneering initiatives through the “Artificial Intelligence Partnership for Diagnostic Imaging” project, which employs artificial intelligence solutions in vital areas, including early detection of breast cancer, pulmonary tuberculosis, strokes, osteoporosis, fractures, and thoracic diseases, which enabled the organization to establish an advanced model in using artificial intelligence to support medical decisions, improve customer experience, and enhance the efficiency of the health care system.
