Zamir requires the return of the bodies of the prisoners and the disarmament of Hamas in order to move to the second phase of the Gaza agreement

A political source told Israeli occupation army radio, today, Friday, that Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir recommended not moving to the next stage of the agreement with Hamas before recovering all the bodies of Israeli prisoners in Gaza.
The source indicated that the recommendation also includes not allowing any reconstruction of the Strip before implementing the complete disarmament process.
Zamir had said two days ago that he was ready to study the release of two hundred Hamas fighters who were “stranded” In the tunnels in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, in exchange for the return of soldier Hadar Goldin, who has been in the Strip since 2014, he returned and confirmed during a meeting of the Ministerial Council for Political and Security Affairs (cabinet), yesterday evening, Thursday, that he was not proposing any deal regarding them.
Zamir added, during the meeting, in reference to Hamas fighters: “Either they surrender or We eliminate them. If they surrender, we will take them in their underwear to the Sde Timan base for interrogation,” referring to the notorious prison at the base in the south of the occupying state.
The Ynet website noted: Al-Abri referred to the statements of the American envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, in which he said, “If they come out and raise their hands and hand over their weapons, this will be one of the tests of the disarmament model in Gaza.”
He also pointed out that the 200 members in the Israeli military enclave in Rafah, whom Hamas seeks to transfer to the Palestinian-controlled side of the “yellow line,” represent only a portion of the hundreds to thousands of residents and fighters. Those who remained stuck between the border with the occupying state and the withdrawal line of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement. The Israeli occupation army is trying to exploit this opportunity to destroy the tunnels in these areas.
During the discussion, a debate occurred between the ministers and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after the latter announced a plan to establish a “model city.” In an area under Israeli control inside the Gaza Strip, it would be demilitarized and reconstructed, so that Gazans could enter it after security inspections, “with the aim of separating Hamas from the population.”
Several ministers opposed the proposal. Minister Gila Gamliel, who interrupted Netanyahu several times, said, “This is a dangerous matter,” and some ministers demanded that the city not be located on the side under Israeli control. Netanyahu indicated that the planned international force would first enter the Al-Mawasi area, which is not under Israeli control.
Since the ceasefire agreement entered into force last October 10, the Hamas movement has handed over the 20 living Israeli prisoners, and the bodies of 23 out of 28 prisoners, While Tel Aviv previously claimed that one of the bodies received did not match any of its prisoners.
Under US President Donald Trump’s plan for a ceasefire in Gaza, the first phase, which includes the repositioning of Israeli forces and the release of Israeli prisoners in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners and the entry of aid, automatically guarantees entry into the negotiations of the second phase of the Gaza Agreement, which will discuss the files of complete Israeli withdrawal, resistance weapons, the removal of Hamas leaders, and the fate of the movement, in addition to the form Judgment the day after the war of annihilation and reconstruction.
