In 2026, Buckingham Palace opens its doors to the largest-ever exhibition of Queen Elizabeth II’s fashions, in celebration of the centenary of her birth. British officials confirmed that the exhibition will include about 200 unique objects, half of which have never been shown to the public before. This huge collection aims to document Queen Elizabeth’s career and royal life, and highlight her continuing influence in the world of British and international fashion. The exhibition represents a rare opportunity to view a royal legacy, extending back seventy years, and brings to life iconic memories from the Queen’s life.

Queen Elizabeth II died in September 2022, at the age of 96; To leave behind an incomparable royal legacy. She was, therefore, the longest-ruling queen of the United Kingdom ever, and her clothing archive is considered one of the most important collections of British fashion in the twentieth century. This archive tells the story of the development of royal taste, and represents a reflection of the changes in British and global society over many decades. The Queen would have celebrated her centenary on April 21, 2026. This exhibition becomes a perfect tribute to her immortal legacy.

The most prominent pieces…from childhood to the top:
The exhibition includes a wonderful collection of pieces that tell the story of the Queen’s life since her childhood. Among the most prominent of these pieces are:
– A small twill dress, worn by the eight-year-old Princess Elizabeth in 1934.
